From NYC (Eastside) or Long Island

Take the Throngs Neck Bridge or the Whitestone Bridge to The Bronx.  There get on the Hutchinson River Parkway North.  Take the "Hutch" north to White Plains, where you should merge onto I-684 North.

Take I-684 North to Brewster, NY.  There switch onto I-84 East to Hartford.  In Hartford, switch onto I-91 North and drive through CT and MA, into Vermont. Exit I-91 in Vermont at Exit #6.

At the bottom of the Exit #6 ramp, turn left onto Rte. 5 North (for about 500 feet) and then bear left onto Rte. 103 North.  Take Rte. 103 North about 10 miles into Chester. At the junction of Rte.103 and Rte. 11, do not turn left onto Rte. 11 East.  Instead, continue straight ahead onto Rte.11 West (which is Main St.) to the Village Green. 

The Chester House is located in Chester, on the right (North) side of Rte. 11 (Main St.) at the beginning of the Village Green. The address is 266 Main St., and there's a blue sign hanging at our driveway.  Turn into our driveway; there are 2 guest parking areas.  If the first is full, please park in the 2nd area, next to the red barn.  Please enter the Inn through the front door.

From NYC (west side) or New Jersey

Take the Palisades Parkway in NJ north to I-87 / I-287 (NY State Thruway).  Then take I-287 south/east to the Tappan Zee Bridge.  Continue on I-287 East to White Plains, where you should merge onto I-684 North.

From Boston

Take either Rte. 2 North, or the Mass Pike West, to I-91 North.  

Get off I-91 in Vermont at Exit #6.  At the bottom of the exit ramp turn left onto Rte. 5 North (for about 500 feet) and then bear left onto Rte. 103 North.  Take Rte. 103 about 10 miles into Chester. At the junction of Rte.103 and Rte. 11, do not turn left onto Rte. 11 East.  Instead, continue straight ahead onto Rte.11 West (which is Main St.) to the Village Green. 

The Chester House, a white building with blue shutters, is located about 1 mile ahead at 266 Main St., on the North (right) side of the Village Green. There’s a large blue Inn sign near the street.  Pull in the driveway.  There are 2 guest parking areas.  If the first is full, park in the 2nd area, next to the red barn.  Please enter the Inn through the front door.  [The distance from the bottom of the exit ramp of I-91 to the Chester House is 10 miles.]

From Albany

Take I-87 North for about 6.4 miles. Take Exit #7 (to "Troy and Bennington") and get on Rte. 7 East towards Cohoes/Troy/Bennington. 

After about 30 miles Rte US-7 East becomes VT Rte. 9. 

To cut around the northwest corner of Bennington and save time, take the new Bennington Bypass, Rte. 279, from Rte. 9 East to Rte US 7 North.  [ Otherwise, at the traffic circle in Bennington, get on U.S. Rte. 7 North to Manchester, VT.]

Drive 23.3 miles on US 7 North and then take Exit #4 onto Rte. 11 East.  Travel about 26 miles, through Londonderry, into Chester, VT.

From Rhode Island

From Points North

Get to I-89 and take it south to I-91 South.  Then take I-91 South to Exit #7 in Springfield.  

At the bottom of the Exit #7 ramp, turn right to take Rte. 11 West about 12 miles, through Springfield and into Chester.  Rte. 11 turns right in Chester, at the junction with Rte. 103. So turn right and stay on Rte. 11 (which is Main St.).

Continue less than 1 mile to the Village Green.  The Inn is near the end of the Green, on the right.  The address is 266 Main St.  There's a blue sign at our driveway.  

Turn into the driveway.  There are two guest parking areas.  If the first is full, please park in the 2nd area, next to the red barn.  Please enter the Inn through the front door. 

From Pennsylvania

Take I-81 North towards Syracuse and then I-88 E toward Albany.  Take I-90 East 11.3 miles to Albany.

Then take Exit #1N towards the Montreal/Albany Int’l Airport and get on I-87 North for about 6.4 miles. Take Exit #7 and get on Rte. 7 East towards Cohoes/Troy/Bennington. 

After about 30 miles Rte US-7 East becomes VT Rte. 9.

From Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester and Points West

Take the NY State Thruway East to Albany.  

From Albany, take I-787 North about 8 miles and take the exit for NY State Rte. 7 East (marked "Troy, Bennington, Vt."). Rte. 7 becomes Rte. 9 in Vermont.  Cut over the northwest corner of Bennington and save time by taking the new Bennington Bypass, Rte. 279, from Rte. 9 East to Rte US 7 North.  [If you go into Bennington proper, at the traffic circle get on U.S. Rte. 7 North.]  Take Rte. 7 North to Manchester, VT. 

In Manchester, turn right at bottom of the off-ramp and travel East on Rte. 11 about 29 miles, through Londonderry, to Chester. 

The Inn will be on your left, at the beginning of the Village Green. 

There’s a large blue Inn sign near the street. Pull in the driveway. There are two guest parking areas. If the first is full, park in the 2nd area, next to the red barn. Please enter the Inn through the front door.

From New Hampshire

Drive west into Vermont and get on I-91.  

If you enter I-91 at Entrance #1 thru #5, take I-91 North to Exit #6.  Click HERE to continue from Exit #6.

If you enter I-91 at interchange #8 or higher, take I-91 South to Exit #7.  Click HERE to continue from the directions from Exit #7.
