Fall Foliage Vacations 2008

Come to Vermont during the most gorgeous time of the year and stay at the historic Chester House while on your Fall Foliage vacation.  Use the Inn as your home base for your touring and sightseeing in Nature's dazzling Fall color palette.

Nestled in Vermonts Green Mountains, quaint Chester is a magnificent place from which to view the brilliant Fall colors of the surrounding countryside.  You can start and end some simply splendid autumn scenic drives in our little hamlet.  We are more than happy to give driving directions and scenic tour routes to guests who are anxious to see Natures multicolored mountains and valleys in their Fall splendor.

CLICK on the leaves to the left for an animated map of Vermont's leaf color progression in an average year.

Note: The Fall Foliage period in any particular year can move up to 10 days in either direction of this average animation.

Note: On the map, the Chester House is located near the southern edge of the second county up from the bottom (Windsor County), on the right side of Vermont.

Good rainfall in May and June, normal weather patterns in July and August, and cool nights in early September tend to result in a brilliant Fall color season.  Vermont forestry experts are predicting an excellent 2008 foliage season, and we can look forward to another brilliant fall foliage season.

If you want to intersperse other interesting activities among your leaf-peeping jaunts, there are lots of other things to do here during the Fall.  Check our "Things-To-Do" page for a sampling of local Fall activities.  Also, to make it easy for you, we have assembled for you a booklet of more than 165 places to visit and things to do nearby.

At the Inn itself you can relax and truly enjoy your stay.  When you're not taking in the leaves, sit for a bit in the wicker rockers on the front porch and just "watch the world go by" as the leaves find their way to the ground all around you.

The Inn is an easy drive from many East Coast states.  Folks travel here from from across the USA and from Europe, just to see Nature's magnificent display of those vibrant Fall colors.  Last year, guests from AL, AR, AZ, CA, CT, MA, MD, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NY, PA, RI, SD, TX, VT, WA, England and Germany booked their rooms at the Chester House during Fall Foliage.

Please noteThe Chester House is a favorite B&B for many leaf-peepers on their Fall trip to New England.  Many folks have already reserved rooms for the 2008 Fall Foliage Season.

So, it looks as if we won't be hanging out our "Vacancy" sign very often during this coming Fall season.  To avoid disappointment, we suggest that you select and reserve your room as soon as you set your travel plans.

After you've selected your room, please check our Room Availability Page and give us a call to reserve your room.

We hope to see you during "sweater weather"!
